DRC: Félix Tshisekedi visits the construction site of Kinshasa's future financial center
The Congolese Head of State began his day on Tuesday, November 8 with a visit to the construction site of the financial center of Kinshasa in the commune of Gombe. It is as a true controller that he combed through the different stages of the major works initiated by the builder, the Turkish company Milvest Company.
The Head of State also took the opportunity to ensure the working conditions of the Congolese workers before talking for about ten minutes with the Turkish team.
This site visit also allowed Félix Tshisekedi to realize the extension of the site which now covers the space of the Rakeen project which has never known a start of construction and all the space of the general management of the Office des Routes now relocated.
According to the communication unit of the DRC presidency, President Tshisekedi said he was satisfied with the progress of the work by leaps and bounds, and promised to return next year for the inauguration.
Another year of work
As a reminder, five buildings to house the Finance Center, the Congress Center and a 5-star hotel are under construction in the commune of Gombe in the space between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Athenaeum of Gombe.
With its twin towers of 20 and 16 floors, the Finance Center should house the departments of the Ministry of Finance and the Budget. According to the model presented by the project manager, the Congress Center should house a large 3,000-seat auditorium, offices and several other compartments.
The Turkish company Milvest Company ensures the construction works of the infrastructures which have reached cruising speed and according to the planning of the builder. Fruit of the Turkish-Congolese cooperation, the work will be delivered at the end of 2023, according to the sources.
