The African Energy Chamber (AEC) is proud to announce the sponsors of the Just Energy Transition Concert this year, taking place ahead of African Energy Week (AEW) 2023. Basketball Africa League, Johnnie Walker and Black Impact Foundation (BIF) have joined AEW 2023 as sponsors of the Concert, laying the foundation for the integration of various industries across Africa. Making its return to Cape Town, the Just Energy Transition Concert represents a platform for the celebration of the continent’s potential and progress towards a sustainable energy future, thereby driving impactful change across the continent. Underpinned by the AEW 2023 theme the African Energy Renaissance: Prioritizing Energy Poverty, People, the Planet, Industrialization and Free Markets as well as mandate to make energy poverty history, the concert offers a platform for engagement on key topics such as energy security and industrialization, integrating Africa’s economies, and strategies for driving awareness regarding the continent’s sustainable future. Representing the continent’s premier basketball league, Basketball Africa League is an organization featuring 12 teams from across Africa. A partnership between the International Basketball Federation and the NBA, the professional league completed its third season in May 2023, and marks the first collaboration by the NBA outside of North America.
